Apple Watch Series 3

Apple released its sleek new smart watch model quickly (to the surprise of many) as a progression to the Apple Watch 2…Why? It looks extremely similar to the Apple Watch 2. But don’t let that fool you. With a stronger processor, better GPS system, better battery life, better display and the option for cellular connectivity – The Apple Watch 3 is one of the best smart watches in the market.

To LTE or not to LTE….

Apple came up with 2 easy to use models - Both in the same signature Apple Watch design. The LTE version & the GPS version. If you aren’t planning to take calls on the go don’t even look into the LTE version. You’re paying more for the differentiating factor. The Non-LTE version is the same just doesn’t have the cellular connectivity option. It makes for an outstanding workout buddy and even for those who want to have an idea what’s going on with their body. It’s water resistant so you can swim with it, it provides run/cycle tracking and Apple upped their game on the heart rate tracker. It doesn’t stop at just giving you your BPM and when to walk around. It even gives you indications on whether you are healthy or you need to check on something (some are claiming this function has saved their life) The LTE version provides the option of cellular connectivity and can work independently from your iPhone. However, you still need an iPhone for this to work. If you’re someone who can’t afford to miss a phone call the LTE version of the Apple Watch 3 is perfect. You can answer phone calls easily while driving & with its great sound you don’t need to hold it anywhere near your head.

Both smart watch models are made in the iconic Apple Watch design. They’re sleek, fast and the vivid bright screen tops it off; making for beautiful and well-functioning smart watches. The OLED tech used in the screen makes it one of the most attractive and best performing smart watches in the market. It’s clear, bright & deep-coloured so you’re never going to have trouble making things out on it. Also, Apple improved upon the sensitivity of the Apple Watch 2 with these models. One tiny flick fires up the display so having to constantly to tap on the screen of your smart watch is a thing of the past. Pressing the Digital Crown has a firmer feel to the digital crown of the Apple Watch 2.

Our verdict?

We’re a strong advocate of the Apple Watch 3 GPS version. For a less hefty price you’re getting pretty much the same smart watch just without the connectivity. Really and truly it depends how important staying connected at all times is to you. Seeing as you’ve managed without cellular connectivity on your smart watch up until now – It may not be the most important thing. And hey let’s face it…It’s nice to disconnect once in a while.
